Seegene is currently the world’s leading developer and manufacturer of multiplex (multi-marker) PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test systems for clinical molecular diagnostics (MDx). The company’s headquarters are located in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Six overseas subsidiaries operate in North and South America, Europe, and the Middle East, managing and supporting Seegene’s global business operations. An extensive distribution network covers more than 60 countries worldwide, including Ukraine.
Seegene holds patents for a number of its own unique technologies (DPO™, TOCE™, MuDT™), which enable the company to develop revolutionary products and maintain a leading position among similar manufacturers.
The company’s core business segment (its flagship) is the development of test systems for diagnosing a wide range of respiratory infections. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Seegene has been among the first to rapidly develop, certify, and implement its own multiplex test system for detecting SARS-CoV-2.
Another strength of Seegene is its comprehensive approach and commitment to supporting the laboratory professionals who analyze PCR results. To make their work easier, Seegene provides its proprietary software—Seegene Viewer—free of charge with all of its diagnostic kits for the automatic interpretation of results.
In addition, the Korean company places a strong emphasis on automating the PCR sample preparation process. For all Seegene test systems, the process of nucleic acid extraction and preparation of PCR mixtures can be fully automated using Nimbus or STARlet (Hamilton) robotic stations.
