Benefits
Get the Most Out of Your Experiment The NIS-Elements software, which underpins Nikon’s development and mission, is designed with high performance in mind. Nikon strives to ensure that all our customers can capture images and utilize every component of the system with maximum efficiency. Capture the fastest time-lapse sequences to meet the visualization needs of science, or trigger the shutter, move the stage, Z-axis imaging, and maintain focus—all without disrupting the natural course of the events you wish to investigate and study. A Single Software Platform for All Imaging Systems Nikon strives to create a unified software platform compatible with a wide range of microscopy systems. NIS-Elements provides a consistent interface, controls, workflow, and terminology regardless of whether it is used for wide-field, confocal, or super-resolution microscopy. With a single platform to learn, users can easily switch between microscopy systems when their tasks require different imaging methods. Imaging results from different Nikon systems can also be easily combined and analyzed to expand the scope of your research. Evolves Alongside Your Research The software is constantly evolving to adapt to the demands of your research. With NIS-Elements, you can expand your system over time (for example, upgrade a detector, add additional detectors, change light sources, add a confocal module, add high-throughput capabilities, and more). Fully tailored to your research From the individual selection and optimization of hardware to the fine-tuning of data acquisition procedures and customized multichannel binary analysis—you have complete control over the process of adapting and building a system shaped and inspired by your imagination. Share your data NIS-Elements is designed so you can “export” your data. There are numerous file and data export options for transferring files, metadata, and analysis results to other formats, other software platforms, and even for exchanging data between applications to utilize other components of your research workflows. Join the NIS-Elements community Nikon takes pride in introducing new and sophisticated capabilities while continuing to enhance core functions in unique and intelligent ways. Try NIS-Elements and see why so many choose it as the foundation for streamlining their scientific work. Remote Control and Monitoring
NIS-Elements can be launched and controlled from a remote PC via a network connection using the Windows Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). Remote control of the microscope and analysis of the acquired images are possible from a PC located in a different location than the experimental equipment. Since this allows the user to monitor experimental processes from a PC at home or elsewhere, if any problems arise during the experiment, the cause can be identified without leaving the lab, and imaging can be performed efficiently over extended periods of time.
Installing NIS-Elements on a remote PC is not required, which eliminates the need for excessive license protection and reduces time and costs.
Easier Data Handling
During imaging experiments, thousands of images are sometimes acquired simultaneously. NIS-Elements provides a user-friendly working environment and helps optimize workflows in research involving 3D visualization and the processing of long-term time-lapse data. In addition, it allows for easy export of images, metadata, and analysis results to other formats and software, enabling data exchange for a wide range of applications. The reuse feature allows for more efficient configuration of experimental conditions, enabling users to quickly create a visualization environment with a high degree of reproducibility. These features significantly enhance the flexibility and efficiency of research environments.
