Methods for Obtaining High-Contrast Images
Nikon Advanced Modulation Contrast (NAMC), a modulation (Hofmann) contrast technique, provides high-contrast visualization of colorless and transparent specimens through plastic laboratoryware. NAMC creates a pseudo-relief shading effect, the direction of which can be adjusted over 360 degrees by rotating the modulator within the objective. CFI S Plan Fluor ELWD NAMC objectives feature a clamping mechanism for the modulator ring to prevent accidental rotation while turning the adjustment ring.

Polarization contrast technology allows for detailed observation of the spindle during oocyte evaluation, thereby minimizing the risk of spindle damage during sperm injection. Thanks to the design features of the TI2-C-SO system, switching between spindle observation and NAMC is as simple and fast as possible.
