Nonspecific adsorption of metal-sensitive analytes can be unpredictable and complex, leading to prolonged system passivation times, high relative standard deviations (RSD), and broad peaks that are difficult to detect and quantify.

The BioAccord LC-MS system combines the ACQUITY Premier UPLC and Premier chemical processes with MaxPeak High-Performance Surfaces (HPS) technology. Figure (A) shows extracted ion chromatograms (XICs) for unmodified and deaminated GFYPSDIAVEWESNGQPENNYK (PENNYK), collected for NISTmAb cleavage. The solid-line chromatogram shows the XIC for the PENNY peptides obtained using the BioAccord system. The inset shows all modifications of the PENNY peptide, including succinimide modification. 

Figure (B) shows the total normalized peak area calculated for the PENNY peptides using a conventional system and the ACQUITY Premier UPLC system.
